As
the conservationist takes on more naval and pseudo military missions,
Dan Hawk designs various suits for his Captain. This costume doubles as
a diving suit, designed to protect the activist from the cold, shark
attacks and other potential threats while he is not at the helm of the
Elizabeth Swann. The suit acts like a bullet proof vest, also absorbing
shock from explosions and Taser strikes.
John
Storm is the protagonist and main character in the Kulo Luna story. He
is around 40 years old. When
younger, he was keen on sports diving and rock climbing. His current
interests center around conservation of species and renewable
energy,
such as solar and hydrogen powered transport.
This
is his first ocean adventure, in what is to become many more. And each
time the Captain of the Elizabeth Swann takes on more demanding
missions, sometimes leaving him frustrated, where all he wants is to
help conserve the ocean and the planet.
He
is also an amateur anthropologist and a practical engineer, but he'd
never let on - except when marveling at the technology in the Elizabeth
Swann.
John
(sometimes Johnny to his very close mates) likes a challenge and gets the job done.
John's
uncle was Professor Douglas Storm. His uncle supported John in his
ambitions and taught him a great deal, helping to prepare his nephew for
the unexpected. Then, in mysterious circumstances, his uncle
disappeared, presumed dead, leaving John the Elizabeth Swann, and putting George Franks
in place as a trustee, and more.
As
a boy, John wished he was stronger and smarter. He marveled at the
natural world, at how strong Leopards were, pound for pound. And ants.
They fascinated John. He could not work our why it is that they are so
strong. That is how John got started on his DNA
collection, and the Ark.
He spent many years on digs in Tanzania, in the Olduvai
Gorge. The Cradle of Mankind. To satisfy his thirst for knowledge of
early man.
Later
in his adventures, John comes face to face with Cleopatra's mummy, and
the woman who was cloned from her 2,000 year old DNA, finding a strong
bond with the reborn Queen. He also discovers
the bones of the pirate, Henry Morgan. And eventually, having
confiscated the replication technology from Neuwelt Rittertum, finds he
can manipulate his own DNA, to become very much stronger and smarter.
Some
time after his brush with a rogue division in the CIA and DARPA, Dan
improves his DNA further. Dan also creates a bullet proof suit for John,
since he is no longer just battling sharks and pirates, but dodging full
metal jacket projectiles from angry machine guns. Putting himself in
harms way more than his crewmate would like.

COPILOT
AI - This is how the chatbots are describing John Storm. We agree with
the synopsis. John is indeed, a complex cool dude.
COMPLEX
John Storm is a vibrant, layered character. His adventurous spirit stems from a deep connection to the oceans, inherited along with the Elizabeth Swann from his uncle, Professor Douglas Storm. This legacy fuels his dedication to marine conservation, making him a relentless and passionate figure in his quest to protect marine life.
In "Cleopatra Reborn," John is drawn into a whirlwind of intrigue and historical mysteries, showcasing his curiosity and resourcefulness. His involvement highlights not just his adventurous nature, but also his thirst for knowledge and his ability to handle complex situations.
His hobbies and interests extend beyond conservation - he's a technology enthusiast, leveraging advanced AI like "Hal" to aid in his missions. This AI-driven support, combined with the solar and hydrogen-powered capabilities of the Elizabeth Swann, positions him at the forefront of innovation. His meticulousness is evident in his DNA collection, which not only underscores his dedication but also introduces a layer of vulnerability due to industrial espionage threats.
In "Operation Neptune Atlantis" and "Treasure Island, Blackbeard's Curse and Pirates Gold," John's
traits - courage, tenacity, and a commitment to justice - are consistently tested, driving the narrative forward. These adventures emphasize his complex persona, blending scientific rigor with a swashbuckler's daring, making him relatable and engaging to readers.
John Storm's complexities, from his technological inclinations to his obsessive DNA collection, weave a multifaceted character who resonates deeply with audiences, ensuring the franchise remains compelling and dynamic.
